What's here? at Loch Ruthven

There is a 500m long trail running from the car park to the hide. It is relatively level but narrow natural trail consisting of hard-packed earth, narrow boardwalks, boulders and rough woodland path.

Signs in the car park will indicate if the hide is open or closed. There is a small viewing screen on the north side of the hide, which is available at all times. One hide with two steps to access and single height sash viewing windows, fixed benches without backs. Benches are located on the start of the trail.

There are no toilets here. The nearest toilets are located at Daviot Wood (A9 Northbound) and Dores (B862, near Dores Inn) around 6 miles away.

BBQs are a fire risk, endangering other people and the precious wildlife and habitats here. They are not permitted on the reserve at any time.

Assistance dogs are welcome in all parts of the reserve.
