Trails not level, with large and steep inclines, un-surfaced, at least 2m wide. Heronry Trail 2.1 miles (3.3km) – linear trail, inaccessible to wheelchairs, stile crossing to heronry. Benches (without backs or armrests) at irregular intervals, mainly at viewpoints. Woodland Trail 2.3 miles (3.7km) – un-surfaced, steep incline, inaccessible to wheelchairs. Benches (without backs or armrests) at irregular intervals, mainly at viewpoints. Short Trail 0.7 miles (1.2km) – un-surfaced, small inclines, accessible for wheelchairs. Benches (without backs or armrests) at irregular intervals, mainly at viewpoints.
Four viewpoints with benches. Main viewpoint 300m from car park. Others at 400m, 1 mile (1.5 km), 1.5 miles (2.5 km). Latter accessed by stile and narrow footbridge.

Our toilets are situated in the car park, however they are temporarily closed. The nearest public toilets are in Hoo around 4 miles away.
BBQs are a fire risk, endangering other people and the precious wildlife and habitats here. They are not permitted on the reserve at any time.
There is no visitor centre here and this reserve does not have any staff on site.
There is no cafe or shop here, the nearest places for food and drinks are the Horseshoe and Castle pub in Cooling village, 1.2 miles (1.9km), and the Red Dog in High Halstow, 1.5 miles (2.4 km). We recommend you bring your own food and drinks if this is likely to affect your visit.
