Wetland Trail is suitable for pushchairs
The wooded heathland trail is not suitable for pushchairs.
Wetland Trail: manual wheelchairs would require a very strong helper. Two self-drive tramper mobility scooters are available to hire - these can access the full wetland trail and viewpoints but must be parked outside of the hides.

Two picnic tables with space for a wheelchair user are available in Fattengates courtyard - 20 minutes walk from the Visitor Centre.

Guided Walks
We have four hides and six viewpoints in total, open daily, dawn-dusk.
West Mead Hide - Door opens inwards. Door width 88cm. The hide features a bench-free low window suitable for use from a seated position. Not suitable for our mobility vehicle. There is a parking and turning space at the hide entrance.
Winpenny Hide - Winpenny hide has a double door, extending to a width of 128cm. The second door is secured with a bolt so users may require assistance. In Winpenny hide some of the fixed seating has been removed to allow turning room to make it accessible to our mobility vehicles.
Little Hanger Hide - Door opens inwards. Door width 75 cm. The hide features a bench-free low window suitable for use from a seated position. Not suitable for our mobility vehicle. There is a parking and turning space at the hide entrance.
Nettley's Hide - Door opens inwards. Door width 75 cm. There are no bench free sections with low windows in this hide. Not suitable for our mobility vehicle. There is a parking and turning space at the hide entrance.

Wetland Trail is gentle, just over 2 miles (3.5 km), lovely views and a stone path. There are gradients and the trail is bumpy in places, especially after rain. It is suitable for pushchairs but manual wheelchairs would require a very strong helper.
The wooded heathland trail is about 1.5 miles (2 km) and includes steep gradients, tree roots and sandy paths. This trail is not suitable for our mobility scooters.
Two self-drive tramper mobility scooters are available to hire - these can access the full wetland trail and viewpoints but must be parked outside of the hides.
A variety of seating with and without back support, some with/without arms and high perching seats.

BBQs are a fire risk, endangering other people and the precious wildlife and habitats here. They are not permitted on the reserve at any time.
Restrictions
Dogs are welcome, on a lead, on parts of the Wooded Heathland Trail and on the public footpaths and bridleways around the nature reserve.
Dogs are not allowed on the Wetland nature trail or into the hides.
Dog walkers are also very welcome to bring their dogs onto the tea terrace adjacent to the café. Dog water bowls are available in the Visitor Centre courtyard.
There are dog waste bins on the edge of the car park.
Please keep to the designated rights of way only.
Assistance dogs are welcome in all parts of the reserve.
