To grow food, we need nature. Find out about nature-friendly farming, the ways we’re working with farmers to make it possible, and how you can get involved.

At the RSPB, we know that nature-friendly farming is the greatest opportunity we have to see wildlife recover. That’s why we’re working with farmers to provide practical advice and policymakers to push for change. We’re leading the way with world-class scientific research and on-the-ground land management.
Many incredible farmers are already sowing the seeds for a future that will leave our farmland, our wildlife and our food system in a better state than they found it. But to achieve the scale needed, governments must grow funding for nature-friendly farming.
New independent research says the UK Government must increase investment in agriculture for nature-friendly farming to £5.9 billion a year. Together, we need to grow funding, grow support and grow louder for nature-friendly farming.
Sustainable farming can help to improve soil health, boost numbers of pollinators, reduce flooding and build resilience in the food supply chain. Farming policy can vary quite a between each of the four UK countries. At the RSPB, we work with policy representatives across the UK to design funding schemes to deliver the change we need.
Fair to Nature is the RSPB's advisory service, supply chain partner and certification scheme.
